I’ve always had a wonderful experience here until today. I was told I could not be seen because i had my 5 year old son with me. i had to reschedule my appointment. I don’t have much help with childcare as my husband works long hours in different places everyday. we can’t afford for him to take off so i can go to the doctor. not only that i have a very busy work schedule and it’s hard for me to even schedule appointments around it. i work in the medical field also and it disgust me that you have “limitations” on how old a child has to be to come in a doctor’s office with a parent. i’ll be looking for somewhere else to go.

This is the worst doctor’s office. If I could give zero stars I would. The staff are rude and very dismissive. The have been seen at this doctor before and no issues. Today I came in and was refused service due to a bill from 2022 that they said was in collections. I never received a bill saying I owed anything. I then go back to get blood drawn they said I had a bill for that for 6.41 that I never received a bill for either. I am 5 months pregnant they said they would not see me at all until the balance was resolved. The walls are so thin you can hear everything. Also you hear the staff talking about one another and the doctors. It’s all around unprofessional. If you are looking at this place to do your pregnancy journey I would look elsewhere. They also upload all your test results on my chart but no one calls you to go over them so you know what they mean. I’m not a doctor. Also when you ask why no one is calling to go over the results the mangers WORDS were “we just upload them to your chart that is our standard practice” You are literally just a number here. They don’t care at all. Be careful because they will switch your appointment times and not tell you either. This place sucks it need’s to be closed down.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting the Caromont Womens health clinic in Gastonia, and I feel the need to share my experience. My overall impression of this clinic was overwhelmingly negative due to the staffs rude behavior and lack of professionalism. From the moment I walked in, the receptionist seemed disinterested and showed a complete lack of courtesy. Instead of a warm welcome, I was met with indifference and an overall sense of inconvenience. It set the tone for what turned out to be a not so enjoyable ultrasound visit. The medical staff at this clinic were equally disappointing. The OB-GYN, who should be providing compassionate care, was dismissive and quit rude. I have been to a few different clinic for ultrasound visits and this is by far the worst. I sincerely hope that the Caromont Ashley location takes these criticisms seriously and makes necessary improvements to their customer service and overall patient care. Looking for an OB and a gynecologist, it is necessary to find a compassionate and respectful healthcare provider unfortunately, this clinic fell short in this regard.

The doctor Jacqueline cooper is the best OB I have seen even though I’ve only seen one down at the health department with the previous pregnancy 10 years ago keep in mind and she was excellent. I love her and I’m a white woman and her grace and attitude and non-prejudice, and overall understanding because I asked 1000 questions. It was a very great experience. I love because my 10 year old daughter is biracial which she did not know but she treated me with the upmost respect and I went to the Garrison Boulevard location and I requested to go to my next appointment at the Summit just because that’s where she will be working at, I will continue to go to the location that she is located at every appointment if possible back 10 years ago I had a bad experience with the Ashley center. That’s why I chose to go to the health department then but she has changed my mind about the Ashley center completely.

The reason for the low rating is because I wasn’t given proper information about billing/payment for my surgery. The provider MD Sharpe is wonderful along with some of the others that worked hard to help me with my situation involving payment. Surgical services was excellent, however someone in there that helps to process payment prior to surgery needs to really think about misinformation about payment. If there are options then say so and if a patient calls for clarification about situations, call them back. Not a good look caromont and trusting some of you is the door. But to the ones that did help, thanks for doing a wonderful job and continue to do what’s right by patients

Dr. McCabe is hands down the BEST gynecologist I’ve had in my life. She is sweet, compassionate, and empathetic. Most importantly, I love that she LISTENS TO ME!!I have to be honest…as a black woman, I’ve had so many doctors over-talk me…they try to tell me what’s wrong with my body based on their preconceived notions or past experiences with patients instead of listening to my OWN experience. Dr. McCabe is the exact opposite. She lets me tell her everything I’m experiencing, she legitimately cares about my wellbeing, she makes sure to remind me of past issues I’ve mentioned and makes sure those aren’t flaring up again, and she ALWAYS asks me if there is anything else I’d like to discuss before leaving.Caromont, treat this woman RIGHT so she will STAY!!! To everyone else looking for a gyno, good luck trying to book with her because she is ALWAYS booked 😂🤎

0 stars- I will be finding a new OB/GYN ASAP. I scheduled an appointment back in September to be seen in November (as that was the first available appointment) and was called back two times in order to reschedule due to family emergencies (understandable). When I finally was able to get an appointment, I drove 30 minutes through traffic and arrived 17 minutes late. I am never late to appointments and the staff was very unforgiving and sassy. They told me that my new provider would not see patients who were late. They ended up SOMEHOW squeezing me in (even though there was one other person in the lobby and hardly any other patients in the back being seen). For my next appointment, I received a confirmation email that my appointment was at 11:30. This time I was SURE to arrive at 11:20. I drove another 30 minutes for them to tell me that my appointment was actually at 11:00, and that I wouldn’t be able to be seen until the end of January. Do not waste your time.

I went in because I was having issues I’d never experienced before. I expected my doctor to run all basic tests including a cancer screening since she couldn’t tell me what was wrong. Nope.. i found out a month later the doctor only tested me for STDs. She never even ran a pap to check for cancer even though SHE didn’t know what was wrong either & it had been almost three years since my last. A week later I called the office and her nurse said she had to “sign off” on the test results. I never got a call back, I still don’t know what’s wrong with me. Don’t waste your timeEDIT: I went to a different doctor and turns out I’ve developed inflammatory pelvic disease because this doctor didn’t bother testing me for simple complications including BV. I have also miscarried three other. I have to say that Dr. Lynch has been happy for my pregnancies, and has cried with me for my losses. He takes care of me as if I was his only patient. I get treated by him like if Im part of his family. He goes above and beyond to try to answer my questions with accuracy. He is very smart and will not give information out of thin air. He will research and follow up quickly. My last pregnancy was very rough on me. Dr. Lynch made sure to make me laugh and give me a peace of mind. There was one time where my insurance was not accepted, and I was willing to pay out of pocket just because of the way Im treated by the staff and Dr. Lynch. I got to the specialist found out I NEEDED A WEEK BACK TO BACK WORTH OF IRON INFUSIONS before I have birth or I could die while giving birth! I asked him how long I had been that bad and he said it had been 3-4 months!!! But I just found out and we’re just now weeks away doing something about it? Even the specialist was confused as to why it took so long before I seemed help. Not to mention my baby came the night after my last infusion!! Also Caitlin refused to sign the papers for me to take maternity leave early because I wasn’t “that bad” even tho I was seeing a specialist for iron infusions because of how sick I was. I was nervous about having this surgery for many reasons but he answered all my questions, ensured my insecurities and helped me feel at peace with not having kids of my own, which was the hardest thing for me. His bedside manner was the best. Several years back, I was in the hospital under another doctors care who left me in the hospital, in pain, not knowing what was going on. Dr. Lynch = 5 starsAshleys = 1 starIm not an active patient, but I can say I wont miss Ashleys overall. Dr. Lynch is *phenomenal* and wish hed open a private practice. The rest of it, I can do without. Im sure its worse since having Caromont take over.Several years ago, upon routine ultrasound at 8 weeks pregnant, the ultrasound tech at the time had no compassion or bedside manner whatsoever. She plainly stated, There is no heartbeat. Im sorry, gave me a pat on my shoulder, and told me to get dressed. I was profoundly heartbroken. I didnt expect for her to coddle me, but I was completely in shock and she showed no concern. Thank God Dr. Lynch had the compassion of a decent human being and showed empathy. He gave me all the time I needed to compose myself so that we could talk about the next steps (I would have to have a D&C). Dr. Lynch was incredibly attentive for surgery as well as for follow-up visits. I will miss him, but my current insurance coverage is forcing me to seek routine care elsewhere. You WILL have to wait long after your scheduled appointment, so plan for it. It was not uncommon for me to sit in one of the waiting areas for upwards of an hour before my visit. I didnt mind so much when I was going to see Dr. Lynch because I know he actually takes the time to talk to people.Ive always had trouble getting anyone on the phone. If you have a non-911 emergency, good luck speaking to anyone in a timely manner. However, today, I really just needed to speak with someone about my records. Option 9 (records) was a dead end. So I tried every other option hoping they could transfer me - I was either holding for the next available representative or it went to voice mail. I was on the phone for an HOUR and never spoke to anyone directly. At one point, the automated telephone system transferred me to the hospital. :| I finally called Caromont directly and they were able to help with my records.

I cannot possibly emphasize enough how horrible my experience with this practice has been, how terrible its patient care is, and how shockingly rude the front desk and office manager Linda Bibiloni were to me. On my first visit in January, Dr. Thibaut told me I wasnt pregnant, because she didnt bother to get up and verify the erroneous negative pregnancy test result with the nurse who put it into the computer wrong. I literally had to argue with her that I knew I was pregnant and had to ask about a miscarriage before I demanded an ultrasound at which point she went to discuss it with the nurses and found out their error. I should have left the practice right then. I had a second visit and had to wait 2 hours to be seen. Maternity blood work which cost $1,000 to my insurance and $231 out of pocket. Had my 20 week anatomy ultrasound scheduled for today and my husband had to take 2 hours off of work for me to go since this office does not allow kids to attend appointments. Got stuck in traffic and was 5 minutes late for my appointment. The extremely rude front desk worker told me (without looking up from her computer) that I was 5 minutes late so I had to reschedule my appointment. I said, if youre ready to see me, great, take me back - I had to wait 2 hours to be seen for my first ultrasound that was at the same time slot. The woman just kept being even more rude about the situation and I asked to see the manager. The office person took me to a back office and went to get the office manager Linda Bibiloni. She refused to come down to talk to me and instead called me on the phone of the persons cube I was in! Defended the rudeness of the front office staff and about a no-late policy (even though it takes hours for them to actually see you). I have never been so angry and disappointed about my patient care. I asked for my medical records and will be finding a new OBGYN. I have had 4 kids with other OBGYNs in other places, and recently moved to Charlotte. I have never experienced such poor patient care and I completely agree with the other review that said these people dont even have human decency, let alone good patient care. My patient satisfaction with this practice could not possibly be lower. Go somewhere else to save yourself from such a bad experience like mine!!!

Yet another awful experience. I’m currently 28 weeks pregnant and chose to try another office this time around and oh, my, goodness. This place is night and day to the garbage-hole that is Ashley’s! I fully recommend going somewhere else, where the receptionists, nurses, phlebotomists, and doctors are all super friendly and professional. They treat you like someone they actually care about. Over an hour later, Im still lying on the exam table experiencing pain, dizziness and no color on my face. I cramped for months (pulling over on the side of the road in pain, cramping) had 2 procedures to verify that it was still in place. It did settle down after about 6 months. Now time to remove, I request something to settle my nerves about this procedure, and was told no! You will experience a very quick removal with mild cramping and motrin will take of discomfort. Oh, yes...just like you described with insertion. I explained that I will not come in without being medicated, was again told no! Thanks for your compassion Midwife Stephanie Gilliam. Was told another doctor in the practice would do it, but I would have to reschedule to his time. No thank you, I wouldnt set foot in this place ever again. Bad medical advice, How can you tell a patient to stop taking a medicine, then on the next visit when your patient is noticeably different from stopping the meds the doctor refers to her as boring. Really happy that I as many times as we were harassed to pay the OB deposit about 8 times between Calls, Letters, reminders at visits and threats to terminate my wifes Prenatal care, which they eventually did after only three visits We held out and did not pay. So when it showed up I questioned his original advice concerning my problems. Once again he ordered more blood work trying to prove me wrong, but again I was right. I know my body. So a nurse calls and tells me the doctor will not touch me until I go to another doctor first. I asked if I needed to come in for a test I was scheduled for and she said NO. I have been a patient for over 15 years and never had problems until recently. To say my appointment today was a one star experience is the understatement of the year!!!

My wife first experience here and probably her last was terrible. We went here for her first ultrasound with our daughter who is 5 yrs old and was told that my daughter was not allowed past the receptionist desk which resulted in me and my daughter to miss the whole appointment. My daughter was so excited to see her baby sister for the first time and was really upset when she was told that she wasnt able to see her. We was never told before hand that there was a rule that stated all kids under 12 werent allowed in the back. The nurses seemed unbothered that I was going to miss an important event.. they just told me that that is part of the hospital rules. My wife is still upset at the fact that she had to experience everything by herself. I never want to step foot in this place again.

I wish I could rate the different doctors individually on this site. From my second trimester, I expressed my concern about my rising blood pressure at every visit. The nurses told me every time that it was “within normal ranges”. I told them how different it was from my normal, but was still not heard. Couple this with my nasea throughout pregnancy, massive swelling, and my ten pound weight gain in a week, and warning signs should have gone up. I even had a doctor tell me point blank “you do not have preeclampsia.”During one of my last visits, I overheard one of the nurses have a concern about my urine sample and tell another nurse, who dismissed it since “it’s hard to get a clean catch this late in pregnancy.” I still wonder if that test was protein positive, because if it was and they had done more test, I wouldn’t have almost died a week after giving birth. My c-section went ok. My doctor was amazing! The nurses at the hospital...not so much, but I digress. The midwife came to my room for discharge papers and I told her my pain level was still high (I’ve had a previous c-section, so I knew what to expect) and my blood pressure was higher than usual. She told me it was all normal immediately after I asked. I had to go to the office to get another pain medicine subscription on the Friday of the week I gave birth. My phone calls were ignored and it was not until I parked myself in their waiting room at 4:45 in a Friday that they refill my prescription without even having the doctor see me about my concerns. (Same doc who said I didn’t have preeclampsia.)The following Monday, my husband had to rush me to the hospital, where I waited in the ER for four hours before having an eclampic seziure. I woke up 12 hours after the event to one of the doctors telling me that “well, looking back, you probably should have been sent home on blood pressure medicine.” Gee, thanks for the kind words. I had visual disturbances and was unable to read for the next several weeks. It’s been a long road back to “normal”. Two years later and I’ve realized that I will probably have to accept my “new normal” and find ways around the limitation I didn’t gave before eclampsia and whatever else happened. I was never able to get a straight answer as to if I had a stroke or HELLP.My csection doctor was there when I was readmitted to check on me. He was wonderful. He did his best to try and find out why this had gone undiagnosed. As was a second doctor who discharged me the second time. Her bedside manner was so calming and patient as I finally cried over the whole ordeal. So unlike the doctor who was there when I first woke up and the doctor who dismissed my concerns. All of this could have been avoided if they had been willing to listen.

I had visited AWC many years ago, but subsequently moved out of town. Recently I had noticed some problems that had been increasingly bothersome. I requested a referral from my primary MD and I was brought in to AWC in a weeks time (which is unusual for a specialty group). I enjoyed my visit from the receptionist who took my information all the way to the checkout area. I did not wait long to be seen by the MD (approximately 10 minutes). We discussed my medical situation, Dr. Holman reviewed my options, and we selected one that would best meet my needs. I was told the referral doctors office would call me to set up the appointment. A seamless visit from start to end. I highly recommend Dr. Holman. He embodies all the qualities you would want in your doctor. If I have any problems in the future, I now exactly where to go.

Despite arriving at my scheduled appointment time this morning, I was in shock when the clerk at the sign-in window told me I’d have to reschedule because I was supposed to have arrived 15 minutes early, due to my being a new patient. (Oddly, enough I’ve been a patient at AWC for over 25 years.) No questions asked about why I didn’t “know” to arrive early, no attempts to ask to see if the doctor might somehow be able to “work me in” to my SCHEDULED appointment, no consideration for the fact that I had driven 50 minutes, nor that I had arranged for alternative transportation to get my kids to school,,etc. Nope, no concern whatsoever. She simply proceedEd to stare into her monitor and type for a few moments, until I regained my composure enough to let her know that I would not be rescheduling then. The front desk clerk needs more training for a people-facing, healthcare-related position.

First of all - I have been going to Ashley Womens Center for almost 25 years; my first physician there was Dr. Howe - and he was up until his retirement; he delivered my 2nd child in 1997 via planned c-section; and also did my tubal ligation 2 years afterwards (1999) - Upon his retirement I began seeing Dr. Colleen Thibaut; I was in the middle of a decision about whether or not to have hysterectomy when Dr. Howe retired; and was transferred over to Dr. Thibaut - with no problems whatsoever; at first we tried an ablation; but I unfortunately wasnt a candidate for that; so the only other option was a hysterectomy; which Dr. Thibaut performed a robotic-assisted procedure in July 2016; everything went well and I am extremely happy with the outcome; and have never had a problem with any of the staff at Ashley Womens Center over the many years I have been a patient there. I would highly recommend.

CANNOT STAND GOING TO ASHLEY WOMENS CENTER IN GASTONIA!!!! Ridiculous how RUDE and hateful they are. They have made my whole pregnancy experience awful!!! Kurstie along with the REST OF THEIR STAFF and their ultra sound tech have ruined every visit I have had in Gastonia. This is supposed to be an exciting time for me and my doctors and nurses should show CARE for me. I dread going to the Gastonia office because of how RUDE they are and disrespectful. Absolutely disgusting. Belmont on the other hand is amazing. Maybe they could use some pointers from the Belmont team. Belmont team is the SWEETEST most loving and caring set of staff I’ve ever been around and they always take amazing care of me. And Dr. Wilcox is AMAZING !
